On Sunday September 15th, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m, the NL Social Justice Co-op and People's Assembly NL invite you to participate in an experiment in democracy. This is a free event, and it is intended to provide interested individuals a chance to discover, discuss, and even try out different methods of democratic decision-making. Being an individual very much interested in engaging in such discussions, it's one event that I'm very much looking forward too, and I invite any readers of this blog in the St. John's area to join us if at all possible - at the St. John’s City Hall, Foran-Greene room. If you're a Facebook user, you can visit the event page here for more information and to let let the organisers know your coming. There is no problem with just showing up though. Come on down!
Facilitator Jon Parsons provides an informative article on the event in The Independent's 'Turning the Tide' section, which I recommend reading for more background. Also, please take a couple of minutes to watch the promotional video below, created by Gordon Little at ZNews. Most of all, however, join us at the event on Sunday, and please let anyone who may be interested know about it as well.
