Here's a synopsis released on King's Website:
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester’s Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener’s hand is severed as “the dome” comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when—or if—it will go away.
Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens—town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician’s assistant at the hospital, a select-woman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing—even murder—to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry. But their main adversary is the Dome itself. Because time isn’t just short. It’s running out.
Sounds delicious no? Perhaps by then I'll have The Dark Tower series complete and be able to dive right in. I'm currently on the last of the series with just a few hundred pages to go. I'm both anxious and kinda sad at the same time about reading this final book actually. I really don't want that story, that world, to end but, I know that ll good things must come to one... so they say. I'll keep you posted on how that progresses.
Thanks to GallyKat and Quiet Earth for the heads on up this most awesome news!

Oh no....I didn't know he was coming out with another one...I really enjoy his books and can't wait !!!
Thanks for the heads up..
Hey, my pleasure. Glad to see other SK fans out there!
I guess I am on notice as well to get "The Dark Tower" series finished... and I am really loving it!
Thanks for following my blog Inlove with Daisies. Now in return of course, I followed you too!
And yeah I too like S.King. I was even thinking of a movie created from his books that suites my latest meme...
nice.. =)
Thanks for the info. "The Stand" was my all time favorite King novel (and I've read them all.)
I felt the same way when I came to the end of the Dark Tower series.
I've been looking forward to the new one, I've ran out of SK books to read, my shelf is crammed full. I'm from Bangor, Maine so I've been addicted since I was old enough to read them.
Thanks for the synopsis, I hadn't seen that yet.
Let me know what your final thoughts are Koz. We'll have a chit chat when we're both finished...
Which movie was that Daisy?
Finally, a new one I might read. I liked Cell, but I haven't like a lot of his newer ones lately. I like vintage Stephen King--It, The Stand, Carrie--basically, the stuff that he wrote when he was high. I have several newer ones that I haven't been able to get into, but this one sounds promising.
How long before the networks snatch it up and turn it into a miniseries?
Good question. The Networks do love his descriptively wonderful stories.
I haven't read any of his newer stuff personally. I went back and started the Dark Tower series when the last 3 came out and that's taken me much longer than expected.
I think I'll read his biography next personally... but not totally sure yet.
Reading Duma Key now and I think this under the Dome seem to be a more serious take of the Simpson movie (remember that Springfield was put under a dome thanks to Homer) but as usual I bet SK will have a character like Randall Flagg in there somewhere or like the Clown in It...
Flagg certainly does make his appearances eh? I love him though.
Haven't Duma Key yet myself, so I can't really comment on the Simpsons likeness. It's on my list though... of course.
